supplemental stocking and
fishing for this tasty species should pick up in the future. A
bigger paddlefish fishery is also developing on Black River below
Clearwater Dam. Besides natural fish, some
of the 1,500 paddlefish
stocked here by the Conservation Department in years past are
returning for the spring spawning season. Clearwater's bass
are something else. Every third largemouth is over 15 inches, with
many in the lunker category. There's no length limit on Clearwater
bass! Clearwater is also one
of the state's outstanding lakes for catfish!
Fishing,
swimming, water skiing, a nice quiet pontoon ride, or a float trip

recreational areas (Bluff View Park, Piedmont Park, Webb Creek Park,
River Road Park and Highway K Park, offering 365 campsites, a group
camp area, swim beaches, boat ramps, numerous picnic sites,
playgrounds, marinas and nature trails.

restored mill and the spring-fed millpond as its main attractions,
plus picnicking and overnight camping.
Black River's
east, middle and west forks converge just south of Lesterville in
Reynolds County and provide great float trips.
Lon Sanders Canyon has a beautiful 1-mile trail with flowing stream
and waterfalls.

continues on improvements to the Piedmont Park Recreation Area. There
is a new
swim beach, and additional launch ramps at
the main access. |
